what I've been doing

.
May 11,2012
Well My Family and Friends,
Greeting in t he name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I have been here almost a month now.
I have traveled to Samburu and back, getting stuck only once in the mud. The driver was a very good driver,(he could make it in the snow I'm sure)which was God's grace.

I have been working on the wordless books everyday faithfully ,as when the team gets here it will be off and running. Three conferences in two weeks .
I have the picture frames ready to go. I pray some of you will Purchase the ink and paper for the pictures it is Canon KP108IN kit. Paper and ink are together I purchased one package before I left.
And see that Jane or one of the team members get them so they have time to add them to there suitcases.
The best buy is on amazon:
Canon KP-108IN Color Ink Paper Set (3115B001)
by Canon
price is only $27.59.
This is the schedule to date.
June 15-17 National conference for all of Kenya ,Uganda, and Tanzania.
Travel to western Kenya (all day travel.)
June 20-21 with pastor John ( Dennis Friend) just outside Kisumu.
June 23-24 conference in Siaya , Nyanza region. Bishops village.
Return back to Nairobi .or do other conferences.

I will be involved in taking videos of all the conference meeting .
Taking pictures of all the kids. And also trying to help when I can with the children meetings.
In the evenings I will print the pictures and put them in there frames . Then the next day present them to the children and remind them that there all made in God's image. Then they will be able to decorate there frames. Last year I did over 500 so I'm planning on at least that many if not more.

Bishop ask me today about starting a single women's group for divorced, widowed and single momma's
group. that is a great idea. If anyone has any materials that I could use for this group please send along .or if can attach and send in Email that would be great.
It will be spiritual but also basics on how to do things that women do not usually do,unless found in a single sitting. Like fixing things ,making things work that you have no idea how ,but you fix it. God's grace. So pray I can hear God's direction in all of this.
The biggest praise is that there has not been any rain for three days. Some of the water has now evaporated around here, but there is still rains in other areas and flooding. Over 50 people died here in Nairobi from the flooded roads and other flooding. It is a nice comfortable 75 here right now. But gets down in the low 60's at night and there are no furnaces to kick on to keep the chill off.
Marcy thanks again for that blanket you sent me with it has been used a lot at night on top of my other covers to keep warm. The women at Monson for the fleece jackets, thank you again when it rains the chill goes right though you and the fleeces help so much.
Well I better close for now.
God bless, holding on to my Jesus's hand all the time.
Love Cathy

first few weeks in KENYA

Jambo in the name of our Lord Jesus,
Dear family and friends,
wow I will been here for two weeks Now,its hard to believe two weeks are gone already.
this is the wordless book that is 7 colors the tell the story of salvation.

black is sin,red is the blood, white pure, yellow heaven/eternal life, green spiritual growth, blue remember you baptism, and purple for royalty.I have made about 100 books so far in my free time .Now I have run out of black and white fun foam, the two main ones sin and forgiveness /pure.
It is going to take a lot of these to give each child one where ever we minister at,when the team comes and when I travel to different areas.
I traveled to Samburu last week for a wedding and to do Sunday school for the children well we slept in and the taxi driver came early so I was hurrying and the bag with the books in it fall under my bed as I was hurrying.so when I go back they will have that lesson.I didn't know I did not have them till I went looking for them in my bag. But we have a awesome God and he did the childrens program though me.I prayed now what Lord and the song deep and wide come to mind so we sang it a few times and went to what was that river that is flowing ,and if we have the holy spirit deep ,deep down in our souls then when their friend try to sway them in the wrong direction they will not go because they have that spirit deep down in their souls.the firm foundation.then related it to the ten commandments. God did a good job.I was so glad He is soooooooooooo deep down in my soul. This is miss Lynn, she and I hung together on Friday while about 20 women in the church came to prepare for the wedding on Saturday she is around three and a half or 4.Then I went and helped peel potatoes wow I never seen so many potatoes.

they feed everyone at the wedding.the potatoes were for the stew.
Now the wedding was same in the service part of it except we do not wrap the train of the dress around the groom to unit them together.they The bride and her court met at the pastors house to get ready for the wedding. everyone had blue finger nails including me for the wedding.Alice looked very smart as they say in Kenya.

now on to the wedding. Bishop Lawrence performed the wedding I will add more pictures on face book and my blog.
but I will add two more.

Now on Sunday God was great I went to the kids Sunday school and had no idea what to share or teach as my materials got left back in Nairobi.
so I just let them sing different song for me .then the Lord said as plain as day the song Deep and wide there's a fountain flowing deep and wide
from there the question was what is that flowing deep and wide .Yes the holy spirit and if you can keep that spirit flowing deep and wide it will grow
even deeper and wider and not be able to be shaken. We incorporated the ten commandments it to the same theme.used examples of stealing some
ones rocks and that if the spirit really is down deep in your soul you would not take the stoles. As when they become teenagers and want to follow
the crowd the spirit being deep down inside growing everyday stronger ,they will be able to turn away from the crowds way of life and follow Jesus.
I also usually have a piece of hard candy to give each kid where ever I go ,but since I had no funds at that point to get any I had some animal crackers
in my backpack for eating on the return trip back to Nairobi (12 hours ride ) so I counted them and there was 52 crackers .so I took them with me to church
and there was 48 kids and teachers so everyone had a animal cracker. The children thought it was so neat because they were from America.
now how many of us get that excited over a animal cracker?
Bishop and I left at 2:00 Am Mon morning to return to Nairobi. We only got stuck in the mud once and all of the men got out of the vehicle and pushed and pushed till we were unstuck.
I am now back to working on my photo frames and wordless books for the conferences next month when the team comes.
I am going to close for now .Keep your eyes on facebook i do show up there and put a up date on from time to time.
God richly bless each one of you.
In our Lord Jesus Christ,Cathy

Romans 1:10-12New International Version (NIV)10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. 11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.

Bowl a Missionary To Kenya

mission Letter 2012

they are so proud of their pictures.

Giving my bible to a new Christian

Sharing what God laid on my heart

  giving worm medicine and vitamins

Dear friends and family,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior. I have really appreciated all your prayers and support over the years. Thank you very much.  I had knee replacement surgery at the end of Nov. so I was not able to return to Kenya in Jan. as I had planned.
Bishop Lawrence has requested that I return in Apr. as he has a building project that he wants me to manage. He founded and administers 27 churches as Gospel Harvest Ministries, www.gospelharvestministries.org.  It is an independent church with little outside resources.  Most of the leadership grew up in poverty with no assurance of enough food for the day. I also will be traveling with him to the different churches, taking a lot of pictures of the children and teaching them that they’re all made in God’s image. I so love to do that because it draws a connection to God that the children can identify with.
I will also spend time in Kampala, Uganda where Rose and her husband have a church and school for the poor and orphaned children and visit my friend Bishop Daniel from Maasailand. Last year they made Bishop Lawrence, his daughter and me honorary Maasais. Also in Kenya in Sumburu I will minister to widows and single women raising children.
I will be getting a five year mission visa, where I will return home at least once a year and stay about six months. As I prepare to go back to Kenya, I am praying that you will partner with me as the Lord leads you. Northwest United Methodist Church and Michiana Prayer Network are my sponsors. I will need lots of prayers and sufficient funds to pay my airplane ticket there, my daily expenses while ministering and supplies to bring with me. I estimate that I need $500 for batteries and other devices to operate my equipment in the villages. My ticket will be about $1600 and my daily expenses $25 for food, shelter and transportation. $8500+ is the financial goal.
Each year God stretches me even more than the year before. This is a real step of faith for me.
I pray I can continue to move out of the way, and hear and follow the Lords plans.

Very sick little girl

If you have any questions feel free to leave a message ,I will get back to you.

God bless, Cathy

Beloved brothers and sisters Greetings,
We (the church at Umoja) had an open air crusade the last Sunday Jane and Kent were here.As you can see the praise team were doing their thing.     We will be having 14another one on this coming Sun (14)
I traveled the other week to Samburu Maralal,Kenya. what a ride it was .I already set up an appointment for massage and putting things back in place.I was a beautiful peaceful place, once you arrive there.
Pastor Josiah and wife Joan hosted us. Joan keep my tea cup full all  the time. Josiah and I had time to compare computer things and programs. Their youngest  Daughter was following me and helping me
She is was trying to teach me a few words in Swahili, and I was teaching her some English.
Samburu it a village town, the roads are dirt and rocks,as I said before it was a rough ride ,but worth the blessings I received.the pictures above are the kids I had a program with on Sat.we did the bible story David and Goliath. We played a t shirt relay where  you put on the t shirt run to the other side take it off and give it to the next person . They all received candy and a pencil.Bless Nancy she read the whole story of David and Goliath which is about a whole chapter and a little of the next. Then I was the shepherd and the sheep ate to much and ended up on there backs and I had to turn them ALL  back over their were a lot of sheep and I was very tired after that.
Then I shared a little in the women's group and again on Sunday. The women presented me with beautiful Samburu neck piece. And the warp was given to me by the hosts. Josiah and Joan took me around town to look at the different shops, and so I could get a little something for my kids and grandkids.here are a few photo's I was able to get of the Samburu people.
the middle picture is warriors, the  last our 3 women and a man just walking by. I have one more warrior picture to show you.
ok now you have seen a few things I have seen now.
God has blessed me so much with the different places I have been. As I prepare to come home I also am preparing to return in Jan. For a three-five year  stay.there are so many areas where my life ,can now help others be healed and  set free ,so they can trust God and except him as Lord and Saviour.Jane and I did a Redeemers Key with the Evanglist here and now her and I are doing another and we pray that it will continue. I have already seen fruits from it ,already  from the one we are doing right now Praise God for his awesome grace and love.
Well I have made this long because of pictures .but I well be home the 24th in evening ,and you can always call and ask me more. If any one 's church would like to have me speak please let me know, after you have talked with your pastor or women's group etc.
God bless each and everyone of you and thank you again for all your prayers and support over these last 5 months.I'm so grateful for Skype a;so so I didn't feel as home sick.
See you very soon. In Christ love ,Cathy Perman

This was a great group from Kawangware .they played hard and loved the bible stories.
For the theme it was we are all Kings and Queens in Christ Jesus.so they made there crowns and they never wanted to take them off.
They played sheep so well that before you knew it there were more sheep showing up.

the sheep layed on their backs and the shepherd had to turn them over
The sheep were eating grass
The shepherd rescued two sheep from the wolf.

The children were playing they were the sheep and Kent was the shepherd
Showing of their crowns
Lunch anyone.
There were at least 30 Kids piled in this van.
Another flat tire. I'm getting good at changing them.A little body weight paid off also in getting the lug nuts loose.
T
his was something these children are not use to doing. they even had Popsicles as a extra treat.Jane and Kent pretty red they looked like lobsters.
I was busy printing the kids pictures in the back of the suv. it was fine till alot of kids crowded around it cut of any air supply I had at that time.Thank you Ginger for letting me use that car adapter,it worked wonderfully.I will write next part on are out reach ministry and Kids day at Umoja church.
